Harvey Relief Mission Trip
July 1, 2018 to July 6, 2018
All DayCategory: Worship for all
Although the disaster and destruction from Hurricane Harvey occurred in the fall of 2017, there is still a great need to rebuild the greater Houston area. Thousands of homes have significant water damage, displacing individuals and families. Not only have homes been damaged, but also places of employment, education, and more. NVC is partnering with Praying Pelican Missions, an organization that works with local churches in Houston to send out teams to help with recovery from the devastation, to organize a mission trip this summer.
WHEN IS THE TRIP?
July 1-6, 2018
HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME?
Your fundraising goal will total $600 per person. This amount will cover not only the mission trip, food, and room and board, but also van rental and gas.
WHEN DO I NEED TO SIGN-UP?
You will need to commit no later than April 1. SIGN UP HERE.
DO WE HAVE A LIMIT OF PEOPLE WHO CAN GO ON THE TRIP?
Yes! Only 20 people can participate in this mission trip.
WHAT WILL WE DO ON THE MISSION TRIP?
Details are still being sorted out. Teams may assist with cleanup, clearout, and repair of water damaged homes, as well as other projects identified by partner churches.
AFTER I COMMIT, HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THIS TRIP?
Mission preparation meetings will take place on Sundays before Worship Service. During these meetings, you will learn how to write a fundraising letter, and how to prepare our hearts and minds to work on missions. These meetings will also help you understand expectations, including sleeping and eating logistics.
