Imbedded in Scripture

When we know God’s Word we obey God’s Word.  Therefore, we are inviting our church family to commit to memorizing 12 key verses.

Resources:

  1. October:  Joshua 24:15, “15 If it is disagreeable / undesirable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
  2. November:  Psalm 27:1. “1 The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”
  3. December:  Hebrews 4:16, “16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
  4. January:  2 Timothy 1:7-8, “7 For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord.”
  5. February:  2 Corinthians 3:12, “12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold.”
  6. March:  Romans 8:31-32, “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
  7. April:  1 Thessalonians 2:2 “2 For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain,2 but after we had already suffered and been mistreated in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.”
  8. May:  John 8:31-32, “31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
  9. June:  2 Corinthians 3:18, “18 But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”
  10. July:  Joshua 1:7, “ 7 Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.
  11. August:  Ephesians 3:14-16, “14 For this reason I bend my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner self,”
  12. September 2024:  Proverbs 28:1, “and that most of the brothers and sisters, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.”
