North Village Church · Spiritual gifts
Discover your spiritual gifts. Take one step toward serving others.
What do people turn to you for? Encouragement when life gets heavy? Clarity when things get confusing? Help getting something done? Those patterns are worth noticing.
Explore spiritual gifts through a Christian assessment, then use our guide to consider where you could serve. You do not have to figure out your whole future to take a useful next step.
The full assessment is hosted by SpiritualGiftsTest.com and requires an account. Our reflection and results guide below are available without registration.
Gifts are given so love can become practical.
The Bible describes spiritual gifts as abilities the Holy Spirit gives followers of Jesus to build up His church and serve others. Read Romans 12:3–8, 1 Corinthians 12:4–7, and 1 Peter 4:10–11.
Some people explain truth clearly. Some encourage people who are discouraged. Others organize, give generously, or notice practical needs and respond. Gifts are not a ranking of importance. We need one another.
Jesus welcomes us by grace, through faith—not because we are useful enough. Serving is a response to His love, not a way to earn it. Your worth does not depend on a test score or how much you accomplish.
Exploring Christianity? You are welcome here. You can use these questions to reflect on how you care for people, while learning what Christians mean by spiritual gifts. An assessment cannot determine your relationship with God.
What feels ordinary to you may matter deeply to someone else.
Start with three things you have noticed. This is a reflection, not a spiritual gifts test. It does not score or assign gifts.
These choices are used only in this page to show your reflection. This tool does not save or send your selections. Refreshing the page clears your reflection.
Please choose an answer to each question, including “not sure” if that fits.
Here is a place to begin.
Hold these observations lightly. Ask someone who knows you, pray about what you notice, and try serving in a small way. The assessment can give you more language for that conversation; it cannot replace it.
Ready to explore your spiritual gifts?
The full assessment is provided by SpiritualGiftsTest.com through NVC’s church-specific link. It opens in a new tab so you can return here afterward.
Before you begin
- Account: New users register with the provider; existing users can sign in. The registration screen asks for name, email, country, username, password, gender, and age range.
- Cost: The provider offers free account registration. NVC does not charge for this reflection or guide. Review the provider’s current assessment options and terms before proceeding.
- Time: Set aside time to read and answer thoughtfully. Work at your own pace and answer from your experience, rather than how you wish you would respond.
- Results: The provider offers a “View Test Results” area after sign-in. Follow its instructions to access and save your results, then return to our guide below.
- Privacy: You will enter information on the provider’s website. This is NVC’s church-linked assessment; review its account and church-sharing settings before submitting information. Taking the test does not subscribe you to NVC’s newsletter.
Keep this NVC page open. When you return, choose “Have your results? Start here.”

Your results begin a conversation.
An assessment reflects your answers at a particular moment. Experience, confidence, and the opportunities you have had can affect them. A high score does not establish spiritual maturity; a low score does not excuse us from loving and serving others.
1. What fits?
Choose one result that connects with something you have actually done. When has someone benefited? Ask a trusted Christian whether they have noticed the same pattern.
2. What surprises you?
Notice what feels unfamiliar or does not seem to fit. You do not need to force agreement with a label. Compare the description with Scripture and talk it through.
3. Where could you try serving?
Choose one small opportunity for this season. Ask what support or preparation you need. Afterward, reflect with someone on what helped others and what you learned.
Turn one result into one experiment.
For example: “Encouragement stood out. This week I will ask one person how they are doing, listen, and follow up.” Or: “Serving stood out. I will ask about one practical task I can help with.”
Try it. Ask for feedback. Adjust. You can practice this in your own church and community, whether or not you attend NVC.
For a wider look at your current season, Plan With Purpose offers a resource for considering your values, vision, and rhythms. Gifts can inform your plans without becoming your identity.
You do not have to work it out alone.
North Village Church is a church family in North Austin, centered on Jesus, living as family, and chasing after others. We gather Sundays at 10:30 AM at 2203 W. Anderson Lane, Suite B, Austin.
If you would like to talk through what you are learning, contact us. You can ask a question, explore a group, or ask about trying a serving opportunity. There is no commitment to join a team.
You do not need to send your scores or full results to start a conversation. Contacting us does not require newsletter signup.
Questions before you begin
Is this a personality or career test?
No. This is a Christian spiritual gifts assessment intended to support reflection about serving others. It is not a career assessment, diagnosis, or general personality test.
Will it tell me God’s plan for my life?
No test can do that. Use your results alongside Scripture, prayer, counsel from other Christians, and experience. You can take a faithful next step without having every detail of your future settled.
What if I am new to Christianity?
You are welcome to explore. Christians understand spiritual gifts as gifts of the Holy Spirit to believers in Jesus. Our reflection can start a conversation about faith and serving; it cannot determine whether someone is a Christian.
Do I need an account or have to attend NVC?
The external assessment requires a provider account. This NVC reflection and results guide do not. You do not have to attend NVC to use the guidance or ask a question.
What if my results do not seem right?
You do not have to accept a label. Consider your opportunities and experience, ask people who know you, and try serving with support. The provider also notes that its test does not assess every gift described in Scripture.
Does finding a gift mean I must join a team?
No. Gifts are for serving others in love, not creating pressure to fill a vacancy. Explore your current season and capacity with someone who knows you. Some opportunities also require training or screening.
How do I return to this guide?
