Topic: faith

This morning we’re going to cover a part of Scripture with a bunch of names and it makes it to glaze over those names. But there’s something meaningful about seeing names, because it’s a reminder that every name represents an entire life of ups and downs. These are people that woke up, worked, had some wins and losses, and then we are going to see a phrase repeated over and over, “and then he died.”

17-years ago, North Village Church began in a home in north central Austin around the Domain with a simple belief: when people experience the power of Jesus personally, they can’t help but want others to experience the power of Jesus. Amen? This is what we’ve been leaning into the last few months. Men and women experiencing the power of Jesus… people coming to faith in Jesus, getting stronger in God’s Word, growing in prayer, turning from the allure of this world and giving their life to Jesus, so that it stirs our hearts to take an interest in others! That’s it!

I remember when our kids were like 3 and 6 years old I walked in the door after work, and my wife Holly was on the phone with 911. Holly was using one of those food processors, got distracted, and chopped off the tips of her fingers.  I said, “Hang up the phone, get in the car!” and we definitely broke some laws as we got her to the ER.
